Tackling Illiteracy For Teens

Pathway to Prosperity
Tackling Illiteracy for Teens (TIFT) is a dedicated initiative aimed at providing essential literacy tools and support to learning-disabled teens aged 16 to 19.
Recognizing the unique challenges faced by these young adults as they transition from youth to adulthood and may be aging out of foster care, TIFT focuses on addressing the obstacles posed by illiteracy, empowering teens with the skills and confidence needed to succeed in their academic, professional, and personal lives.
By leveraging a targeted approach that combines educational resources, technological tools, and supportive services, TIFT seeks to create a nurturing and effective learning environment tailored to the specific needs of learning-disabled teens.
Our mission is to empower households to move out of poverty and achieve self-sufficiency through comprehensive digital literacy programs, job training, and access to resources.
Objectives:
1. Improve digital Literacy by providing education and training to improve digital skills among adults and families.
2. Support functional literacy through tailored programs for those struggling with basic literacy, bridging gaps that limit employment and self-sufficiency.
3. Promote self-sufficiency as we help participants develop skills to secure stable employment, manage finances, and access community resources.
4. Facilitate access to opportunities with connections to job opportunities, educational programs, and supportive services.
