Get to Know Us

Adults with Learning Disabilities Foundation was envisioned in 1988 by Founder and CEO Felix Strozier. The foundation is a community-based action organization dedicated to bringing awareness to adult illiteracy by working with a team of volunteers and agencies promoting literacy throughout the country.

The foundation's mission is to provide tools that assist adults with learning disabilities. It's estimated that 42 million adults in the United States face challenges with reading, writing, and comprehension. Adults with these disabilities are less likely to graduate and are often at risk of living in poverty.

Our resources include laptops, desktop computers, specialized software, eBooks, electronic spell checkers, and GPS navigation systems. Adults with lower literacy levels are more likely to succeed when provided with these transformative tools.

Our Mission

The AWLD Foundation’s mission is to shine a light on the challenges faced by young adults and adults with learning disabilities by increasing awareness, reducing stigma, and delivering tools and support that drive measurable independence and long-term success.

Our Vision

AWLD Foundation envisions a future where awareness replaces stigma, barriers are reduced, and young adults and adults with learning disabilities have the support and opportunity to reach their full potential.
